2-3-13 Ethics by Billy Cox     What industry are you in?  Have you thought about the rules, regulations, standard practices, industry expectations, and the other stuff that is basic understandings in any given company that you work for or own?  Photo by: Billy Cox.com

While studying jobs, occupations, businesses, and entrepreneurship this week, I came across a YouTube Video regarding the industries and jobs that started us out working long long ago.  Today, we still have many of these businesses that serve and help other people and businesses start and grow.

The Biggest take-a-way that I gained from all my studies and new concepts and goals envisioned was this: ” In making a Living yesterday, today, and forever, YOU have to be the best at your craft in order to succeed to your full potential.”

2-3-13 Market Place LeadersFrom the top to the bottom there are certain occupations that have been around for a long time. #1 Tax Collectors, Cooks, Fisherman, Wine Makers, builders, traders, gardeners, Spice Makers, Drivers, merchants, Professors, Archaeologist, Zoologist, weatherman, pilgrims, lawyers, doctors, nurses, and on and on the list could go. Jobs that people do,  that every body needs at some point or another practically on a daily basis.

     As I reflect back on this past week in search of solutions to use for the week to come so that we may be proficient, efficient, bearing fruit from our labor while earning a living and making a life; I think of the times when I considered what is the sum of it all at the end of the day that makes life worth living.  How does what we do for a living have to do with how we navigate through this life successfully in order to fulfill our purpose.

2-3-13 Fuse your business with your faithRealizing that as we work in our individual crafts throughout our daily coming and going; we encounter people.

These occasions of chance would not have occurred had we not been on our routine scheduled day.

So as we glide and strive through life we need to be our very best at what we do in order to step up to the plate of where we are suppose to be in our life’s journey.

For many years during  the days of my youth; I heard many teachings that alluded to Christians not going to secular schools or learning secular trades.  While I totally believe that there are certain people who are destined to attend seminary and be the Levities (Preachers/teachers) of today; I do not believe that we should separate ourselves so much that we alienate the people whom we are supposed to be living and working amongst and being the “Salt” to the earth.

      When God gives us talents and skills He expects us to perfect them and to be our best at it. Working and doing all the days of our lives to reaching our fullest potential.  Why else would He have created us, to sit around like a knot on a log? I think not. He gave us all of this to be the apple of His eye; not the worm at the core.  We have a purpose to be our best in whatever we do.

Colossians 3:23-24

King James Version (KJV)

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

      The sum of the matter is this: the Good Lord has given each of us talents, skills, ways of thinking, access to resources, purpose, passion, and drive to achieve our maximum levels of success. It is during our trials and achievements through the pursuit of  our purpose that we are aligned and in position to reach the ones who have not yet found their niche in life. IF we were all priest/preachers we would not be amongst those who our Boss is trying to reach.2-3-13 God is my CEO Christian faith at work - org
