Sunday Morning Reflections with E. Michelle Lee, Simplicity and Understanding; misunderstood. 3 in 1

You know, Nature, can provide us with simple understandings of the most complex of truths to be told and understood.

Whether those truths be major or minor, work related or personal. Nature has a way of showing us things.  He who created nature and all that we see, knew that, and it made Him smile I am sure. For when He visited us and walked this land in the form of man, Jesus spoke in parables all of the time. Only those in their own intelligence who allowed themselves to become simple; received the understanding of what He meant in those parables based on their belief and faith in Him.

So simple of a thought, but made to be complex for the lack of man’s thinking in the simplicity and understanding that was meant to be available to us all. Since human’s distinctly try their best to disprove most anything that doesn’t suit their fancy; it is no surprise that they dismiss the thought and importance of leaving God’s simple truths alone.

Take a look at the picture above, I took it while on a ferryboat. I’m sure you see the big bubbly wave of foam caused by the ship’s full speed ahead. But do you see the 3 calm waves in the background also caused by the ship’s trail?   Yet, the distance between them all and the quietness of the three ; they still come together as one mighty force to propel the ship forward and reach its destination. While each of those quiet waves are separate with some distance between them, they all three are caused by one ship, one propeller, one captain.

If we could look with such simplicity and understanding as did the natural happenings in the parable above we would understand this….

Each of us has our own level of understanding and processes thoughts and ideas differently. You know there are some smart people and then there are some really smart people.  How else would we have the chance  to laugh at blonde jokes. (LOL- stop your hatein), I was a blonde most my life; natural and bottle; I know the truth.

But still, this one simple truth bewilders so many.

                                     Why?

When it is right there in front of their eyes; I wonder.

I just can’t fathom how people can not see truth. It blows my mind sometimes. But then, I came into understanding why simplicity and understanding is so misunderstood. I became saddened when I stumbled upon the simple truth that people cannot understand something that they are not yet to understand. It is beyond their own understanding for a reason. When people are not pliable they cannot understand even the simplest of truths.

It is only when they seek understanding that they receive the understanding. Let me give you an example.  Larry wants to purchase stocks to increase his financial worth. But where does he invest? Larry doesn’t have an understanding of how it all works and is afraid of losing his money. Bad thing is Larry does good to count his fingers and toes. Math is not his forte and risk is not his nature.

Since Larry is a labor worker he is dead dog tired when he comes home from work and doesn’t have time or energy to overcome his level of understanding or the lack thereof. So Larry decides he will seek out someone who does know and understands the nature of trading stocks and hires a broker.  The stock broker gives Larry the information he needs to make a decision to purchase and Larry follows the broker’s advice and buys the best stock for his investment capability equivalent.

Had the broker not given the understanding to Larry so that he could understand what to do, Larry would have not been able to see which stock purchase would be the right answer.

Last week I was stumped by someone whom I thought to be a true believer.  When I figured out the misunderstanding was because they did not believe what the Bible says about something; I could not for the likes of me understand how they could not see the simple truth in front of them.  Written in the Good Book.  Sure as the sky is blue, they truly could not read the text and get the meaning of God’s Word as it was right there in black and white.  Then I remembered what I have shown you today. Sometimes people’s understanding is so misunderstood in the simplest of truths and it’s not entirely their fault that they can not simply understand.

Misunderstood and sadly deteriorating in our generation today, is the simple truth that God has given us whereby we must be saved. The Bible clearly states that no one can understand the mysteries of God unless God gives you that understanding Himself.

Matthew 13:11
He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Luke 8:10
And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

So what do you do when you can’t understand the life generating and imperative truths?  Try this:  You should believe like the child in Jesus’s parable where he was teaching them to see as simple as through the eyes of a child and just believe and have faith in Him to teach you what you need to know and do in order to have His saving grace in your life and level of understanding.

When you find yourself questioning God and want to know the truth about the matter; think and see through the eyes of a child and humble yourself to ask God to show you His Mysteries that are yet to be known by you.  If you seek Him; He will reveal to you what you need and are willing to receive in faith and belief in Him.  Simple as that.   If you are unsure about what you believe and what you have been taught about God and how you must be saved to reach heaven. Pray and ask Him to reveal to you; what you need.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

There is but one way to find truth. And that is to seek it first. Be pliable second. And most of all, trust and believe that God will give you the understanding of His way for you to know the truth and allow it to save you.
